After more than 40 years of experience in food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, I have put my knowledge and skill to work in a new business, SKKB-LLC.
As founder of SKKB-LLC, I’m specializing in what I do best:
· Leadership development of technical people;
· Organizational design;
· M&A risk assessments;
· Sanitation;
· Common sense food safety systems; and
· Training related to the above.
My approach is no-nonsense – I have been in the trenches, with sleeves rolled up, during some of the industry’s toughest challenges, including BSE, STEC, establishment of environmental listeria programs, the specter of foreign material, Covid, and the ever-changing regulatory landscape. My storytelling approach makes these actual events, and the issues they represent, relatable and real for my clients.
I held senior level roles across foodservice and manufacturing companies, including CTI Foods, US Foods, Maple Leaf Foods, Smithfield, Tyson/IBP and Arby’s – all after humble beginnings as a QC tech on second shift at Land O’ Frost in Hammond, IN.
I am actively engaged within industry organizations, such as the American Meat Science Association, the Beef Industry Food Safety Council (BIFSCo), Women in Agribusiness, The Alliance for Advanced Sanitation and the Food Safety Summit Educational Advisory Board. I am humbled to have been named a Finalist for the Most Impactful Woman of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, and recently received the 2024 Demeter Award of Excellence at the Women in Agribusiness Summit.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Foods from Cornell University. Other certifications include HACCP and Preventive Controls, along with decades of experience just getting things done. For my complete work and educational background, please access my LinkedIn profile.
If you’re looking for a professional with integrity, who is upfront, honest, and brings a sense of humor and humility to their work, that is who I am and how I operate. Reach out today to see if there’s a fit for your next project.
